Research Spotlight Award

The ECE Staff Awards Committee solicits nominations of classified staff, research faculty, post-doctoral fellows, and general faculty in three categories. Submissions can be completed by faculty and staff members only via the online form. Letters of support are encouraged for all awards and can be uploaded via the online form. Questions can be directed to Dante Christmas.

The Research Spotlight Award is presented to a researcher (research faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, or general faculty members) who has made a significant contribution to the research efforts in ECE. It is critically important to encourage research faculty to go significantly beyond “business as usual” in terms of high-impact research, in order for ECE and Georgia Tech to maintain and even improve its position as a leading academic organization. Performance is measured by multiple metrics that are tracked each year for annual reviews and promotion reviews; these metrics include measures such as publications, grant proposals submitted and funded, and students mentored and graduated. Such metrics provide a baseline for comparison and performance far above the norm for research faculty will be required. Nominators must also submit a two-page summary of their nominee’s achievements. This award consists of a $2,000 check and a plaque.
