2023 Roger P. Webb Awards Program
The Roger P. Webb Awards Program in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering recognizes the excellence of the School’s faculty, staff, and students and celebrates the end of the academic year. The awards will take place on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 2:00- 4:00 p.m. in the Klaus Atrium. This website details the awards for faculty, staff, and students. The deadline to submit is February 17, 2023.
Faculty Award Categories
The ECE Faculty Honors Committee solicits nominations of faculty members as candidates for recognition in four categories. Faculty colleagues only may submit nominations for these awards to Andrew Peterson; the correspondence in the package should be addressed to the members of the ECE Faculty Honors Committee. The Committee requests one pdf file containing the entire contents of the nomination package: 1) a nominating letter, 2) candidate résumé, and 3) three letters of recommendation. (The initial nominating letter may be submitted online, followed by the pdf file of the nomination that may also be submitted online.) Go to the ECE Faculty Awards page.

- Outstanding Mid-Career Faculty Award

- D. Scott Wills ECE Distinguished Mentor Award
Staff Award Categories
The ECE Staff Awards Committee solicits nominations of classified staff, research faculty, post-doctoral fellows, and general faculty in three categories. Nomination packages for these awards may be submitted by ECE faculty and staff members to Shalonda Williams. The Committee requests nominators complete the online form and submit nomination packages electronically via the awards program website. The Research Spotlight Award also requires a two-page summary of nominee achievements. Nominators are encouraged to include additional letter(s) of support with all nomination packages, regardless of award category. Go to the ECE Staff Awards page.

Student Award Categories
The ECE Student Awards Committee solicits nominations of outstanding students in six categories. Faculty and staff members only are encouraged to submit nominations to Greg Durgin. Nominating packages and letters may be submitted online to Dr. Durgin. The ECE Graduate Teaching Assistant Excellence Award and ECE Graduate Research Assistant Excellence Award require additional documentation, so please read those requirements carefully on the ECE Student Awards page. In addition, seven more undergraduate awards will be chosen and given by the School of ECE and by the Eta Kappa Nu Honor Society, and an eighth – the Colonel Oscar P. Cleaver Award – will be determined by the ECE Graduate Committee. Go to the ECE Student Awards page.

Additional Recognitions
Georgia Tech has a number of Institute-level awards programs for faculty, staff, and students. If any ECE faculty or staff members receive Institute-level awards, they will also be recognized at the Roger P. Webb ECE Awards Program. If any ECE students receive Institute-level awards that are not specific to the School of ECE, they will also be recognized at this event. ECE Graduate Teaching Assistant Award winners, which are normally presented at the School’s annual spring picnic, will also be recognized at the Roger P. Webb ECE Awards Program.
